Chef Manish Mehrotra Is Set To Unveil MMCA, Blending Memory Craft And Modern Dining

Chef Manish Mehrotra unveils MMCA, a personal culinary atelier that fuses tradition, artisanal craft, and global influences to orchestrate immersive gastronomic experiences centred on Indian and Asian cuisines.

India’s culinary landscape stands among the most audacious and pioneering in the world, with the Future of Food Report 2025 heralding it as a defining force in the ‘future of food.’ From gourmand fragrances to foodcore aesthetics, food permeates as an omnipresent muse across cultural and creative realms. Celebrating this food crusade, Chef Manish Mehrotra has revealed his most intimate culinary endeavour titled ‘Manish Mehrotra Culinary Arts’ (MMCA). With the patronage of Amit Khanna of Amaya Ventures and Binny Bansal of Flipkart, the platform aims to meld cultural vision, crafting a future for the Indian kitchens. Envisaged as a contemporary culinary atelier, MMCA will orchestrate immersive gastronomic experiences centred on Indian and Asian cuisines, intertwining memory, artisanal craft of cooking, and cosmopolitan influences.
The Dawn Of A Culinary Chapter
After nearly three decades of relentless dedication at Indian Accent, a restaurant long synonymous with his name, Mehrotra returns to unveil a deeply personal passion project, Manish Mehrotra Culinary Arts (MMCA). “At its heart, MMCA is about food as a cultural narrative, connecting tradition with the world, and chefs with their craft,” notes Chef Mehrotra. Chef Manish Mehrotra is a visionary who has redefined modern Indian cuisine through innovation, precision, and bold reinterpretations of tradition. With Indian Accent having set the benchmark from its onset in 2008, MMCA now becomes the canvas for his next chapter. A prolific award-winner, Mehrotra’s honours include induction into the Hall of Fame: India’s Top 30 Chefs, and Culinary Icon of the Year according to Travel & Leisure India. An avid collector of over 1,500 cookbooks, he continues to inspire the next generation, including his daughter Adah, who is set to train at the Culinary Institute of America.
Collaborative Journeys
The platform is co-founded by two other distinct voices united by a shared commitment to tradition, culture, and craft. Chartered Accountant by training, Amit Khanna is a seasoned entrepreneur, investor, and business leader with more than two decades of experience across real estate, retail, and mining. Beyond his entrepreneurial and investment pursuits, Khanna is an avid art collector and a visionary backer of creative initiatives. Through Amaya Ventures, he combines strategic foresight with cultural sensitivity, supporting projects that blend innovation, heritage, and meaningful impact.

Binny Bansal brings entrepreneurial sense and systems-driven thinking to MMCA. Recognised for transforming Flipkart from a modest online bookstore into India’s largest e-commerce giant, Bansal now extends his expertise to building institutions that endure. At MMCA, he ensures the platform is structured for growth, fostering a deliberate, purposeful model built to evolve sustainably.

Beyond The Art Of Dining

At its essence, MMCA is a homage to the complex, deliberate, and soulful kitchens where food is crafted with integrity rather than styled. This platform emerges as an architect shaping the trajectory of India’s gastronomic landscape, pioneering restaurant concepts, mentoring burgeoning chefs, cultivating and preserving the timeless wisdom of Indian gastronomy for generations to come.

Building on this vision and the notion of cuisine as a profound medium of expression, MMCA’s inaugural restaurant is set to open in New Delhi in late 2025, presenting an immersive exploration of grain, fire, and comfort. “My first project under MMCA is quiet, purposeful, and Indian food-forward – measured in approach and defined by integrity,” reflects Mehrotra. This restaurant is set to interpret tradition through soulful flavours, seasonal bounty, and a restrained, contemplative design language, while borrowing references from a contemporary Indian kitchen. By early next year, the platform will extend its ethos through a curated catering arm, translating the same painstaking culinary narrative from intimate tables to grand gatherings.

As MMCA charts its path forward, “It’s (also) a return to where it all began—flavour, memories, and the joy of cooking without boundaries,” muses Mehrotra. With this platform, Chef Manish Mehrotra is not just crafting a legacy; he is positioning Indian and Asian gastronomy to claim its due place on the global stage. From intimate tables to grand celebrations, the platform beckons an era where Indian flavours, techniques, and narratives resonate far beyond their origins, announcing its place at the forefront of global gastronomy.
