The New St. Regis Resort In Goa Embraces Luxury Amidst The South Goan Landscape – DP Reviews
The latest luxury hotel chain to enter the Goan market, St. Regis has launched the sprawling St. Regis Goa Resort in the sands of South Goa. The property is nestled in 49 acres of lush greenery against the backdrop of the Arabian Sea, and the landscape is a beautiful mix of azure waters, lush flora, and blue skies. From the very first sight of the resort at Mobor beach where you are taken in wholly by the riveting view, to the very end where you leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, the resort exceeds your expectations in true Regis fashion.
Getting There
The St Regis Goa Resort is an hour’s drive from the Goa International Airport, on a route lined with endless coconut groves. The property lies next to the famous Cavelossim Beach, which can be used as a landmark to get there. Upon reaching, you are greeted at the grand lobby with tender coconut water from the resort’s very own trees.
Design and Architecture
The resort was originally designed in 1990, by California-based architects Wimberly, Allison, Tong, and Goo. Terracotta, gray, and white make up the colour schemes spread over 206 well-appointed rooms and suites. The interiors bring forth a sense of modern indulgence blended with classic rusticity, while the architecture blends into its surroundings with a confluence of Portuguese and Indian elements. Handcrafted furniture, textured materials, and opulent marble details stand out across the resort.
The resort is set to go through a partial renovation in 2023, introducing new forms and textures while blending into the existing visual framework. Further to this, natural fibers, handmade surfaces, and organic sensibilities will embrace all of the public spaces like the grand lobby, restaurants, and living areas.

Rooms and Suites
The rooms and suites feature an interior language of beautiful woodwork, spatial character, and stunning views of the greenery around. Every room comes with a private terrace, truly exemplifying the property’s indoor-outdoor sensibility. The villas are particularly captivating as they are set amongst the property’s very own spice gardens and coconut groves. The tone of the architecture resembles that of Spanish villas from the outside with an elegant simplicity on the inside.
A part of the property has been rebuilt into a private area, on the concept of ‘a Hotel within a Hotel’, which consists of 20 suites including one bedroom suites and the presidential villa with 3 bedrooms; 12 of which feature plunge pools. The guests who reside within this private property have access to butler services and their very own restaurant called the Manor, with spectacular views of the golf course.
Dining
The property offers the most immersive dining experiences, amongst its many picturesque surroundings. The picnic lunch by the beach is curated by the chef and his team in a special setting with picnic decor, champagne, and the best of Indian and International cuisine. The menu features quality dishes ranging from Thai, Italian, to Japanese, and the Sashimi is an absolute must try for any seafood lover! The cocktails are a heavenly mix of ingredients like cacao and black sugar from Japan that are light on the stomach and overall, divine.
Experiences
The St Regis Spa is a luxurious experience in itself, with its varied holistic Ayurveda treatments. While the spa is relaxing enough, the golf club that edges the Mobor beach provides stunning views of the sea during a tee off! The property also has two charming pools set against waterfalls to calm the senses while taking a dip. The Manor pool is exclusive to the guests of the private villas and it stands out in its own unique way in the tropical landscape of the property.
The Verdict
The vastness of the property, the spectacular views, curated butler services, attentive and conscious hospitality, truly sets the St. Regis Goa Resort authentically apart from the other resorts in the region.
